It’s one of the most sacred dates on the Star Wars fan-mania calendar. And even though the world is in isolation this May 4th, respect for this date will still be marked by thousands who dress up and parade around the living room as their favourite character, wield a lightsabre at mum across the breakfast bar, watch Return of the Jedi for the umpteenth time and maybe even take their bins out “iso-style” as Slave Leia! (We dare you).

Yep! The legacy WILL live on, even if this year, we can’t march in perfect rows of Stormtroopers or get close enough to smell Han Solo’s aftershave. From lovers of the very first episode A New Hope (OK, we know, technically the fourth episode!) through to the Mandalorian TV series; and whether you’re more of an 800 year old Yoda or The Child – a 50 year old Toddler, any fan is a fan on May 4th. In 2020, more than ever, we need our love of the inter-galactic world to unite us and keep us strong. From our kitchens, backyards, patios and lounge rooms, let’s take on the May 4th Challenge!

Your 3-step challenge?

Dress up! Check out the link below for our huge range of costumes for everyone, including Rover!

Get social - posts that is (you must still be 1.5 metres apart 😊). Post your iso-fun activities in your favourite Star Wars costume and remember to tag us at #costumesupercentreau.

And finally Turn on Disney+ (like it was ever off!) to start your May Fourth Movie Marathon. Let's call it Cult Couch time! As you trudge through the snow with Luke Skywalker in The Empire Strikes Back and travel to Jakku with Rey in The Last Jedi, know that you are not alone on your Star Wars journey. A newbie Mandalorian fan or a die-hard from the ‘70s, let’s all “virtually” come together and celebrate OUR day - Star Wars day.

And here’s a few helpful tips (you could call them orders) from the Leader of the Dark Side himself, Mr D Vader.

  1. Wear A Mask and Gloves
  2. Don’t visit your son or daughter
  3. Be socially distant 😊
