Halloween 2021 - What's New? What's Hot!

Halloween 2021 - What's New? What's Hot!

Is it cliché to say “Wow, it sure has been a big year!”? Yeah, maybe. But it bloody has though, right?! We rolled our way into the new year about 5 minutes ago, notched up a few more lockdowns and Bob’s your uncle… Hello October! Silver lining? It’s Halloween time, baby! Grab the spider webbing, deck the garden out with cardboard tombstones and start planning those costume ideas! We are here for it!

Of course, we have you well and truly covered for the Halloween staples… You know it, we know it. You want Witches or Vampires? We got you! But what you need to know, before you go setting your plans in stone, is what’s NEW this Halloween!

Family Fun

I have always been a big fan of the ‘family story’ concept at Halloween. The whole family teaming with a theme. I know cute isn’t typically a term we throw around at Halloween, but it is! It’s CUTE! Happily, there are even more family options on offer this Halloween:

The Wiggles FINALLY! After years of waiting, The Wiggles have released adults sized costume tops in all 4 skivvy colours so the whole family can get involved in some Wiggly fun! Perfect not just for a colourful and less spooky Halloween option, but also for the touring shows the gang put on!

Bluey 2021 Saw the arrival of kids and adults’ option for the whole Heeler family! Everyone at home can dress up as Bluey, Bingo, Chilli & Bandit to celebrate what has fast become an iconic title for kids, equally loved by parents both in Australia and abroad.

Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir Not a new title, Ladybug and Cat Noir is a French CGI superhero series that aired first in 2015. Becoming a cult hit, the franchise soon expanded to books and toys. This year Australian consumers have been treated with Ladybug and Cat Noir licensed costumes too! Just when we thought we had all the heroes we could handle!

Space Jam: A New Legacy 25 Years after its original film was released

starring NBA superstar Michael Jordan alongside Bugs Bunny and the rest of the Looney Tunes gang, we were treated this year to the modernised sequel Space Jam: A New Legacy. This time featuring another NBA star and all-round pop culture juggernaut LeBron James, the Looney Tunes were back in a bigger, badder, more bang-for-your-buck film than Warner Bros has ever made! With a new film comes new costumes! You can slam dunk your Halloween with bonus ‘style points’ (that’s a film reference!) dressing up as King James (LeBron) himself, or Bugs, Tweety or Taz!

New for Marvel & DC:

With next to no theatrical releases in 2020 due to the pandemic, we have enjoyed lots of new Marvel and DC content both on the big screen and via the streaming services this year, and that means lots of new costumes too. 😊

WandaVision - There may have been Scarlet Witch and Vision costumes available for some time, but happy days! Just in time for Halloween and fresh from the Halloween Spooktacular episode of the Marvel Studios hit show WandaVision are the Wanda and Vision Halloween costumes. Super simple in their design, these promise to be really popular this year thanks to how identifiable they are and that they would be super tricky to put together yourself.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings Part of the MCU Phase 4 this newest addition to Marvel Studios hits and the costumes have dropped just in time to make an awesome Halloween option this year!

The Suicide Squad Everyone loves a new Harley Quinn option, and the latest film hasn’t disappointed in providing another makeover for Harley. Ok, so the rest of the gang might not have gotten a look in… but we got our girl covered and we are happy with that!

Hogwarts Newness:

It wouldn’t be Halloween without something on offer in the Harry Potter world. Hermione Granger Wigs are in stock now, along with the new Harry Potter Photoreal Robe for kids that has the robe details, shirt, tie and sweater images printed directly on to the robe.

Gremlins:

Flash back to 1984 and Gremlins the Horror/Fantasy film was huge! Especially the furry mogwai character Gizmo. Introduced to new audiences in 2021 in the new animated streaming series, ‘Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai’, Gizmo is set to be adored by new audiences! The new Gizmo costume for Toddlers is a super cute Halloween option!

Masks:

Speaking of Gremlins… Gizmo and Stripe (the Gremlin) are also a part of the new Googly Eye mask range! Funnily enough when we thought we were all over masks this year… they might just be one of the coolest accessories for a hilarious addition to your Halloween! The Googly Eye range also includes: Annabelle, Beetlejuice, Pennywise and The Nun.

For the Mandalorian/Star Wars Fans – New Oversized EVA Masks for Mando and The Child have arrived for your wearing pleasure too!

So, there it is! The wash up of all the newness in the range, ready to make your Halloween a fun one!
